editing

I was very sad that it was time to edit. That means that all of this is over. this was a very fun project to film. I enjoyed hanging out with friends. Filming this time was definitely easier. As it was just us we worked much faster. We also listened to each other. Also we have never hung out outside of school so that was also exciting.

Editing was a lot easier this time. We haven't fully finished filming. So we are editing as we go along. We have filmed around 3 hours of footage. We cut it down to around 30-45 seconds and still have everything downloaded. We have back up videos for if we don't film a lot more this weekend. We edited together on Melina's laptop by sending the videos to her and sitting with her to do it. We are going to hopefully have Melina with us over weekend. But if not we will finish on Luisa's phone and make Melina send us what she has so far. Then we can add and take out things judging by the length.

We are going to edit on iMovie. We are having a sleepover at Kat's house. We are going to finish filming. And edit while we are doing it. We are also going to add transitions. We want to have at least 4. Because more than that would probably be too much. We are also adding a little bit so that it doesn't look weird. Like we were doing a power point in 5th grade or something. We want it to look like a professional music video. I want it to look like Clairo or Girl in Red because they have really cute music videos. Their videos look like it was just them and a camera having fun and not caring. Which is a very good vibe for a "high school" project.

filming part2

we finally blogged this weekend. We all met at Kats house at 1:30 and stayed until 6. Luisa had to leave earlier. We first went down the street. When we were walking we found a shopping cart. We were not originally going to use it. But then our friend suggested we should use it like in tik tok videos. We all have tik tok so we knew what she was talking about. Our friend Micheka pushed Luisa while I recorded. I am usually the actor so I was happy to record.

We decided we should take pictures and input them too. So we spent 20 minutes trying to get a picture of us jumping. We would always miss the timer by 1 second. Or we would get and one person would forget to jump. I was that one person. I was laughing too hard that I couldn't focus on jumping. We also skateboarded for around 30 minutes. Within those thirty minutes I learned how to skateboard. Kat also fell not once but twice. When she fell I could not stop laughing. But sadly Luisa only recorded one fall.

Our last stop was mcdonalds. We stayed at mcdonalds for about an hour. I got ice cream. Finally their ice cream machine was working. After I got my ice cream I sat down and asked Luisa to get the fries. They called for large fries. So naturally Luisa got up. But to our surprise they gave her ice cream instead. She sat down and we all stared at her confused. She just shrugged and laughed. Luckily we got our fries though. We also are filming more over our sleepover this weekend.

Filming

Sadly we could not film. All of us were busy this weekend. We all had prior arrangements that we had forgotten about. We had all gotten excited about filming. Then we planned out times. But sadly we realised that we were all busy. We all wanted to go to kats house. I was so excited. But i also couldn't find a ride. So we decided to film and have a sleepover another time.

When we film we decided it would be better at a later time. We thought a later time would be better. We decided that because we need money. The things that we want require money. We all realised that us wanting to film on Saturday was very short notice. And we wouldnt be able to get money from our parents. We are going to aim for the weekend after thanksgiving. Because then it wpuld probably be a better time for that.

We want to film at multiple different locations. We also want to buy food. And maybe buy oursleves some things too. I might ask kat if there is a mall close to her house that we can hang out at. Because going to the mall will get us some amazing footage. Also if its at the mall we can invite more people. Because then kats parents wont get mad that theres a lot of kids at their house. But im so excited to film when we do. Also hopefully tge weather is warmer.

Storyboard

1. Our costumes are just going to be t shirts and shorts. But the weather could be colder so maybe jeans and shirts. And if it rains then well just wear leggings and have umbrellas.
2. The lighting is gonna be dark. We are going for a very chill vibe. The more mellow and dark the better. Also we are using strobe lights maybe.
3. We arent going to be acting per se perhaps just playing up our personalitys to ghe cameras but just being ojrselves whilst hanging out.
4. There is a scene where we will be messing around with makeup. Just messing around. So it wont look good but just for fun.
5. Our proos are not really props. But moreso food and our skateboards.
6. Our secenery will be very aesthetic and we will eb filming at mostly stores and kats house.

Shenica will be mainly doing editing along with some help from us. We are mainly focusing on easy transition because we want it to be like you blink and the BOOM next scene.

We finally decided to keep our song as 'girls just wanna have fun' by Cyndi Lauper. We might have to cut the sound on the real scene because we might want scenes of us laughing but it would overlap the song.

Were most likely going to be using the same like six shots and movements. We are gling be using tracking a lot for our skateboard shots and also pov a lot.

For our location we decided to have more than one. We decided to film at around three or four locations. Our locations are most likely going to be Kats house, the skate park, and we might film at the ice cream shops and maybe some other extra places. We are going to most likely to have a sleepover.We are going to ask for permission to film at all the places. We will have a first aid kit on hand and our waterbottles.

Our costumes are going to be normal going out clothes. Were going for a simple girls night theme, so we will keep our outfits very simple such as jeans, simple shirts, jackets, hoodies. For our props we will be using skateboards, bicycles, skates, cameras, face masks, pillows, and pajamas.. We will be using these for our footage. We will be going to the beach, park, Kats house and we will be using these props at these locations. Since our costumes is just normal teenager clothes we will be fine with simple clothes. For our makeup we will also keep it simple, some if they want they can choose to wear makeup or if they do not want they do not have to. At the end its a "girls just want to have fun" music video. All we will be doing is having fun. 

For our schedule, everyone is coming to kats house on a Saturday. We will film some scenes in kats house. Then we will go to the "skate park", it is actually just the back of a mechanic shop. After we will go to McDonalds. We will be also go to an icecream place and overall spend the most time at kats house.

intro to new project

So as I said in my last blog. We are finally done with our commercial. And we are starting our music video. I am really excited. My group is sort of the same as last time. But with a few changes because we added a few of our friends.

For our song we chose Girls just wanna have fun by Cyndi Lauper. It was made in 1983. We chose this song because we wanted a really fun and chill theme. And what better song than a song about girls having fun. For our back ups they are Material Girl by Madonna or Marvins Room by Drake. For our backups we will still keep the same theme.

Our songs are both 80s pop besides Marvins room which is r&b. For camera st
1.For our costumes we are just wearing normal clothes because there is no point I  dressing up as it is supposed to look natural. We are going to be wearing band shirts and vans though.
2. Our lighting is going to be either colorful with multicolor lights. Or perhaps dark depending on the song we choose.
3.We thought that instead of having "actors" we should just hang out with our friends. We are going just film ourselves having fun with our friends.
4.For our makeup we are going with a natural theme. So our everyday makeup or just bare faces.
5.For props we are going to be using skateboards and food. We also might go bowling or rollerskating and use those as "props".
6. For our scenery we are going to have multiple different locations. We are going to one of our group members houses and then we are going to skateboard down the street. Maybe we might get some ice cream and film ourselves doing that too.

final blog

welcome back! its been a while. Allow me to catch you up. We finished editing and turned in our commercial.  We edited on iMovie. I felt really bad for the other kids. The ones who had to edit on the school computers. I am a little sad that its over. But also happy because it was kind of stressful.

For our commercial we used a voiceover. At first it was my voice. But the voiceover I sent didn't get to Luisa. Until the next day when we were in class. By then it was way too late. So we were just going to record it in class. We went onto the stairs to record. But then security came and we had to go back to class.

After that debacale we changed Kat to the speaker because my voice sounded weird. But modern problems require modern solutions. So because it was really loud in the class. We decided to go to one of the closets. They are inside the classroom. Luckily, the boy who was in there let us go in and record. We kept stopping to laugh. Because Melina would do something funny. Or I would start laughing and kat could not concentrate.
