bird box review
For one of the movies we chose Bird Box. Its genre is both thriller and drama. For the CA in CAMS which is camera angles we have plenty of them. The most used camera angles in Bird Box are high angles, close ups, canted angle and low angles. For the M in CAMS we have movement and there was a lot of zoom, panning and tilt.For our S which stands for common sounds they were footsteps, water sounds, wind blowing, birds and sounds of nature. Some common editing there were a lot of flashbacks, action match, and eye-line match. For the elements of bird box we have the protagonist which was Malorie, she was pregnant when this disaster started. People would see something that means a lot to them but it would end with them dying. The way they died is their worst fear. The antagonist is their biggest fear. Only people who were happy were able to see outside and not be affected by the visions. One element i didn't like was that the you could guess what would happen next because it was a circle of events, which the same thing kept happening over and over.

99 problems but a pitch aint one
Our first pitch was about a teen who kills her friend. We based off of the Alissa Bustamante case where she killed her six year old sisters best friend for fun. She then thinks she's in the clear until they search her house. When they search her house they find her diary with a scribbled out page, after using a uv light they make out some words and question her. We thought we could call it 'Thrill kill' because thats what the courts described it as. We also thought 'In for the thrill' could be cool. This idea was good because its going to be quite easy to convey in two minutes. We thought it would be easiest because we do not need character introduction. Kat came up with idea of doing a interview where our main gets arrested. Then once in the police station they tell her that they have her diary, and know what she did. We have had this idea since the beginning of the year. When we found out we had a two minute movie opening due we all told ideas. I had went through a true crime phase and remembered hearing of this case. We changed from her killing her little sisters best friend to her killing her best friend because we couldn't finfd someone small enough.
When we pitched we each suggested an idea and weighed them out. We each decided that going with the pitch about the 'thrill kill' would be easiest because it is based on a true story. So rather than try and come up with how to start it we are going to do a flashback scene of our main character killing her best friend. Then we are going to see her getting interviewed by the police where they tell her they know she did it. We went with this idea because we have had this since the beginning of the year. We also picked it because we all like murder mystery movies and wanted to see what it would feel like to star in one.
Although we have a while for this project we are going to start filming and storyboarding as soon as possible. As we have had mishaps in the past. We are also going to buy items that make it look as real as possible. We will be using fake items though, because obviously murder is illegal. There is a party city near Kats house so we will probably go there before and pick up supplies.

Hi! Welcome back to my blog. I haven't blogged since last year haha. Well not a lot has happened since last time. I have decided to work with the same group as I did for the previous tasks. We worked really well together and I enjoyed working with them. My group consists of me, Katherine, and Luisa. Kat and I are sophomores but Luisa is a freshman. I met Kat my freshman year, because we had culinary class together. I met Luisa in middle school when we followed each other on instagram.
I enjoy taking AICE media studies because I have learned so much. I thought this would just be another fast paced AICE course that people do to get their credits. I have realised that that is not the case because it is such a fun class. Making new friends is a key factor in this course. I have also noticed that whenever I am watching something, I look at all of the camera angles. I also use watching tv shows as a studying tactic as a way to learn how many is too many and how to get them to flow. I also learned that there are lot more angles than just high and low. I thought that there was only a little bit of things to learn when being a director, but as well as knowing how to work a camera you also need to be able to work with people. I have also how to script write. From watching our commercial to our music video you can tell just how much we have learnt.
For our movie we are thinking of making a movie based off of the 'thrill kill' a 15 year old girl lures her little sisters best friend into the woods and murders she wouldnt have been found if it was for her diary. Our next idea is a teen who becomes a serial killer to feel closer to her father,who is in, little does she know he's innocent. Our final idea was a superhero who spend his days fighting crime but when he gets he goes back out and murders people for the fun of it.

editing
I was very sad that it was time to edit. That means that all of this is over. this was a very fun project to film. I enjoyed hanging out with friends. Filming this time was definitely easier. As it was just us we worked much faster. We also listened to each other. Also we have never hung out outside of school so that was also exciting.
Editing was a lot easier this time. We haven't fully finished filming. So we are editing as we go along. We have filmed around 3 hours of footage. We cut it down to around 30-45 seconds and still have everything downloaded. We have back up videos for if we don't film a lot more this weekend. We edited together on Melina's laptop by sending the videos to her and sitting with her to do it. We are going to hopefully have Melina with us over weekend. But if not we will finish on Luisa's phone and make Melina send us what she has so far. Then we can add and take out things judging by the length.
We are going to edit on iMovie. We are having a sleepover at Kat's house. We are going to finish filming. And edit while we are doing it. We are also going to add transitions. We want to have at least 4. Because more than that would probably be too much. We are also adding a little bit so that it doesn't look weird. Like we were doing a power point in 5th grade or something. We want it to look like a professional music video. I want it to look like Clairo or Girl in Red because they have really cute music videos. Their videos look like it was just them and a camera having fun and not caring. Which is a very good vibe for a "high school" project.

filming part2
we finally blogged this weekend. We all met at Kats house at 1:30 and stayed until 6. Luisa had to leave earlier. We first went down the street. When we were walking we found a shopping cart. We were not originally going to use it. But then our friend suggested we should use it like in tik tok videos. We all have tik tok so we knew what she was talking about. Our friend Micheka pushed Luisa while I recorded. I am usually the actor so I was happy to record.
We decided we should take pictures and input them too. So we spent 20 minutes trying to get a picture of us jumping. We would always miss the timer by 1 second. Or we would get and one person would forget to jump. I was that one person. I was laughing too hard that I couldn't focus on jumping. We also skateboarded for around 30 minutes. Within those thirty minutes I learned how to skateboard. Kat also fell not once but twice. When she fell I could not stop laughing. But sadly Luisa only recorded one fall.
Our last stop was mcdonalds. We stayed at mcdonalds for about an hour. I got ice cream. Finally their ice cream machine was working. After I got my ice cream I sat down and asked Luisa to get the fries. They called for large fries. So naturally Luisa got up. But to our surprise they gave her ice cream instead. She sat down and we all stared at her confused. She just shrugged and laughed. Luckily we got our fries though. We also are filming more over our sleepover this weekend.

Filming
Sadly we could not film. All of us were busy this weekend. We all had prior arrangements that we had forgotten about. We had all gotten excited about filming. Then we planned out times. But sadly we realised that we were all busy. We all wanted to go to kats house. I was so excited. But i also couldn't find a ride. So we decided to film and have a sleepover another time.
When we film we decided it would be better at a later time. We thought a later time would be better. We decided that because we need money. The things that we want require money. We all realised that us wanting to film on Saturday was very short notice. And we wouldnt be able to get money from our parents. We are going to aim for the weekend after thanksgiving. Because then it wpuld probably be a better time for that.
We want to film at multiple different locations. We also want to buy food. And maybe buy oursleves some things too. I might ask kat if there is a mall close to her house that we can hang out at. Because going to the mall will get us some amazing footage. Also if its at the mall we can invite more people. Because then kats parents wont get mad that theres a lot of kids at their house. But im so excited to film when we do. Also hopefully tge weather is warmer.

Storyboard
2. The lighting is gonna be dark. We are going for a very chill vibe. The more mellow and dark the better. Also we are using strobe lights maybe.
3. We arent going to be acting per se perhaps just playing up our personalitys to ghe cameras but just being ojrselves whilst hanging out.
4. There is a scene where we will be messing around with makeup. Just messing around. So it wont look good but just for fun.
5. Our proos are not really props. But moreso food and our skateboards.
6. Our secenery will be very aesthetic and we will eb filming at mostly stores and kats house.
Shenica will be mainly doing editing along with some help from us. We are mainly focusing on easy transition because we want it to be like you blink and the BOOM next scene.
We finally decided to keep our song as 'girls just wanna have fun' by Cyndi Lauper. We might have to cut the sound on the real scene because we might want scenes of us laughing but it would overlap the song.
Were most likely going to be using the same like six shots and movements. We are gling be using tracking a lot for our skateboard shots and also pov a lot.
